Rare Form

28 Oct

I’ve been in rare form this week. Noticibly edgy…facetious …cutting…and as one co-worker described “SASSY”.

I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I don’t feel like being sweet to people. When something witty (or cutting) comes to mind, I just blurt it out. I just don’t feel like my “Happy-go-lucky” self!

Sorry if I have said anything to hurt or offend  you in the past week. I just need to get into the Word and humble myself I guess…

Here are some questions I’m pondering this week:

  1. Do I just need an attitude adjustment or is this just my real personality?
  2. Can “SASSY” ever be a good thing?
  3. If everyone is rubbing me the wrong way…am I the one who needs to turn around?
Me vs. Me

Me vs. Me

    Judi,
About three hours ago, before I even knew this post existed….I wrote out these words on twitter: “Have I spoken words that hurt someone’s heart….” But then I decided to push delete…
Please permit me to share these words sung by Amy Grant. They are words for you to sing as a prayer to Heaven:

“Breath of Heaven, hold me together…..be forever near me, Breath of Heaven.
Breath of Heaven, lighten my darkness….pour over me Your holiness….for You are holy, Breath of Heaven….”

beth moore said once that the people who seem to “bring out the worst in us” are the people we need to have around. cuz we should want the worst in us brought out – so that we can deal with it and get rid of it. so…maybe the people rubbing you the wrong way, is actually the right thing right now.

or. maybe i have no idea what im sayin.

    this could also be possible.
    ;)

I’m happy to report that I spent a good chunck of time reading the Word last night. It was theraputic and I feel like a new person today. Being far from God is usually the quickest answer to any kind of attitude “funk”.

Judi, I know it’s hard to believe that I would ever say anything sharp, cutting, or hurtful, but I too deal with this. When I let myself get far away from the heart and presence of God, I start to be mean to people.
