Judi,
As you shared your very personal struggle, I felt you had answered the question concerning our group and had already taken us into your real family. Your willingness to be so vulnerable let me know you trusted that we would protect, stand with, fight for, care and pray for you because you obviously would do the same for us. You shared your "hard-to-share" struggles with such grace, authenticity and love, it brought tears all around. But you also shared how amazing Jesus has been in replacing the sadness with His joy. I know of several you gave new hope.
You allowed us into a very precious place in your heart. Thank you for trusting us there. I knew you were going to be amazing!!
Love you!

I felt you did AMAZING friday night. It really caused me to think about how I react to certain situations and family members in my life.

As a little side note, I think your mom is AWESOME!!!

Judi,
Fervent prayer went up for you...long before you took the podium. Prayer for anointing by the Holy Spirit. Prayer for His power and the love of Christ to flow through you...

The church is my real family. There are many brothers & sisters-in-Christ that are much closer to me than my natural family.
Jesus addressed His true family in Matthew 12:46-50. He was not denying His responsibility to His earthly family, instead He was pointing out that spiritual relationships are as binding as physical ones.

GREAT question, Judi. Yes we would, and yes we should! Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves His church. Why shouldn't we treat the church with the same respect we have for our own family?

Thanks for the thought-provoking post!

Love the question about treating our church as our family. It's kind of a double edged sword, though. Sometimes we say and do things to our family that we definitely would never say or do to strangers. For whatever reason it might be, our family receives the brunt on stress or whatever negativity is going on. Then again you care and love your family above all else. Hmmm!
So many of Paul's letters are urging his brothers to be Christ like to all - even non Christians. I think he has some awesome prayers and directives that are absolutely beautifully written!

How did it go? Hope it went well, I'm sure it did!

Hi ccdguy!

I don't really understand your question fully...what religious truths are you talking about?

All religion is based on Faith...most religious beliefs - Christian or otherwise - can never ever be proved. That's why we call it "faith"...because we believe the unseen. Hebrews 11:1 Now FAITH is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things unseen

You'll always keep fighting religion if you don't understand faith.

Judi, is it?

Do you think that religious truths must stand up to critical inquiry, or that faith is more important than reasonable validation?

That's what we're debating at www.createcognitivedissonance.wordpress.com, right now. Check it out!
