Here’s my point…

Okay…we are really reaching a new low…

My point on my blog post about how Christians will find anything to boycott goes to a new level…did you know that we are now boycotting Starbucks?!?!?!

Kelli – if you’re reading, I’m very sorry. You now need to give up that delicious and addicting Starbucks beverage. Read on…

Group finds Starbucks logo too hot to handle

New Starbucks Logo

May 15, 2008

Seems that one person’s smut is another person’s morning latte.

A Christian group based in San Diego found grounds for outrage over the new retro-style logo for Starbucks Coffee.

The Resistance says the new image “has a naked woman on it with her legs spread like a prostitute,” Mark Dice, founder of the group, said in a news release. “Need I say more? It’s extremely poor taste, and the company might as well call themselves Slutbucks.”

Because we all know what an impact the Disney boycott had!

Nice. Maybe we should slow down and talk about this over some nice Pike’s Place blend… no?

Haha, I was reading about this last week. So ridiculous.

In all fairness, it’s not just in the church. In general-life, it’s a lot easier to critique than it is to contribute.

PS – This isn’t a personal issue of mine, but shouldn’t Christians be more concerned about fair-trade? Starbucks is pretty good about this, but a lot of companies are paying sub-market prices to third-world nations in the name of the “bottom line”. Why not stand up for that rather than a picture on the side of a coffee cup you are going to throw away.

She looks like she’s trying to jump rope with her 2 fins. Someone tell her it’s impossible. They’re attached to her torso.

    Hi, just dropping by.

I ran across this post, and it shows the “evolution” (is it okay to use that word, or will that watch-dog group get after me) of the logo.
