Energy Update

3 Apr

In my quest to conserve energy at home, I learned something new today – very simple too!

Even when your cell phone or mobile device isn’t charging, that big plug it uses is warm – because it’s using energy even when it’s doing nothing. Physically unplug chargers from the wall to keep them from silently sucking down wattage while you’re not using them.

Thanks Life Hacker for the great tip!

Perhaps more importantly, might the device last longer, saving you money and being “green” by not having to drive to the store to get another one that someone had to make and deliver to that store…

Just remember the energy you “saved” was already “wasted.”

No, meaning, my electric bill will be less if I unplug them. :)

Haha, plus I think having all that stuff plugged in makes our house too hot. We gotta cool lit down!
